Speculative office drought ends with Glasgow go-ahead

Central Demolition are to clear the way for a 94,000sq/ft office development in Glasgow city centre later this month after funding was secured to progress the speculative build by Fore Partnership.Occupying the corner of Cadogan and West Campbell Street the block is scheduled to complete 2020, ending years of delay after the Cooper Cromar scheme was sold off by Titan Investors in 2015.
In a statement accompanying the announcement Fore wrote: "Due for completion in mid 2020, Cadworks will deliver desperately-needed high-quality space in a City where the development pipeline has significantly dwindled and where FORE’s building is likely to be the only new ‘Grade A’ space coming to market. Current 'Grade A' vacancy in the city is below 2%."
Boasting the city’s first ‘cycle-in’ ramp to access 108 cycle racks in lieu of an underground car park, the Grade A office building will offer occupiers column free floorplates, animated street frontages and on-site fitness and shower facilities.
Branded as Cadworks the project is fully financed with a contractor o be lined up shortly.

What failed office schemes are these, mate? There's very little vacant grade a space in the city centre, less than any of GVA's 'big nine' except for Liverpool in fact.
